Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh expressed unwavering confidence, asserting that the Bharatiya Janata Party would secure a resounding victory in the Inner Manipur Lok Sabha seat.
CM Biren accentuated the BJP has played a pivotal role in enlightening the people of the Northeast, leading to heightened support for the party. He exuded optimism, claiming that the BJP would triumph with an overwhelming margin.
“In the past, speeches and qualifications held significance, but today, it is essential to have leaders genuinely dedicated to the welfare of the community and the region,” remarked CM Biren.
Citing the BJP’s transformative impact on the entire Northeastern region, the CM asserted the party’s certainty of success, declaring its chances of victory at a staggering 200 per cent.
Manipur is home to two Lok Sabha constituencies, namely Inner Manipur and Outer Manipur. The BJP had previously announced its backing for its ally, the Naga People’s Front or NPF, in the Outer Manipur seat.
The upcoming polls in Manipur are scheduled in two phases, set to take place on April 19 and April 26, respectively.
CM Biren also commended the Meitei and Kuki communities for their role in maintaining peace in the region, amidst ethnic tensions prevailing since May 2023.
“The prevailing peace reflects the trust placed in the State administration. I urge everyone to address grievances through political dialogue and negotiation, as violence only exacerbates problems,” asserted the CM.
The Inner Manipur constituency encompasses portions of the Imphal valley districts, predominantly inhabited by the Meitei community.
