Defence Minister Rajnath Singh issued a stern warning, declaring that Bharat will enter Pakistan and eliminate anyone, who are involved in terrorism activities in the country and flee across the border. Singh’s statement follows a report by Britain’s The Guardian newspaper alleging Indian operations resulting in the deaths of 20 individuals in Pakistan since 2020 as part of an anti-terrorism strategy.
In response to the report, Singh asserted, “If they run away to Pakistan, we will enter Pakistan to kill them.”
“Bharat always wants to maintain good relations with its neighbouring countries… But if anyone shows Bharat the angry eyes again and again, comes to Bharat and tries to promote terrorist activities, we will not spare them,” said Singh.
Bharat-Pakistan relations have worsened since the attack on a Central Reserve Police Force convoy in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama in 2019. The activity was traced to Pakistan-based terrorists, leading Bharat to carry out an airstrike on a terrorist base in Pakistan.
Pakistan has previously accused India of involvement in targeted killings on its soil, while India has dismissed such claims as “false and malicious” propaganda. The report in The Guardian follows accusations from Canada and the US regarding Indian operations against Khalistani separatists abroad, further straining international relations.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has pledged to investigate any information regarding these allegations.
