In a significant breakthrough, the National Investigation Agency or NIA nabbed two suspects associated with the Rameswaram Cafe blast in Bengaluru. The arrests took place near Kolkata in West Bengal, marking a crucial advancement in the investigation.
The detained individuals have been identified as Mussavir Hussain Shazib, the alleged perpetrator who planted the Improvised Explosive Device (IED) at the cafe, and Abdul Matheen Taha, believed to be the mastermind orchestrating the attack.
In the early hours of April 12, NIA successfully tracked down the fugitives Abdul Matheen Taha and Mussavir Hussain Shazeb near Kolkata, where they had been hiding under assumed identities. This operation was made possible through coordinated efforts among central and state intelligence agencies, including those from West Bengal, Telangana, Karnataka, and Kerala.
In a parallel development, NIA apprehended an individual linked to the purported revival efforts of the People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI) on Thursday. This arrest followed extensive raids conducted across two states, with collaboration from local law enforcement agencies. The operations, executed on Wednesday, targeted locations in Jharkhand and Assam.
