Bharatiya Janata Party national president JP Nadda led a campaign rally as part of the Vijay Sankalp Yatra in Assam’s Kokrajhar district on Thursday. The BJP chief was campaigning for BJP ally UPPL candidate Jayanta Basumatary.
During the rally, hitting out at the Congress Nadda stated, “Kokrajhar became synonymous with bandh, bomb, blockade, strikes in Bharat. Once, Kokrajhar was the hub of andolan or protests. Congress played a major role in fuelling the division and conflict among brothers.”
He praised PM Modi’s vision of bringing Bodoland into the mainstream by forwarding the Bodoland peace process and granting Rs 1,500 crore for the peace and development, bringing national level sports events like Santosh Trophy and Durand Cup Trophy matches to Kokrajhar. Besides, Nadda hailed the hardwork of BJP ally UPPL and its chief Pramod Boro in bringing peace to the region.
