Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma arrived at a polling station in Tura with hopes of being among the first to cast his vote in the Lok Sabha polls’ first phase. However, he was pleasantly surprised to find that other voters had already lined up early to exercise their franchise. Sangma, also the president of the State’s ruling National People’s Party or NPP, personally drove to the Walbakgre polling station in Tura at 6:30 am and joined the queue, encouraged by the enthusiastic turnout.
