The High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination results, conducted from February 16th to March 4th, 2024, were officially announced on April 20th, 2024, within a remarkable 45-day timeframe post-examination.
Out of the 4,25,966 candidates who registered for the exam, 6,888 were absent, while 361 results were withheld, and 61 candidates faced expulsion, ultimately leaving 4,19,078 candidates who appeared for the examination. Among the appeared candidates, there were 1,87,904 males, 2,31,164 females, and 10 transgender candidates.
The overall pass rate stood at 75.7 per cent, with male candidates achieving a pass rate of 77.3 per cent, female candidates at 74.4 per cent, and transgender candidates leading with an impressive 80 per cent pass rate.
A total of 6,392 candidates secured distinction marks (85 per cent and above), while 20,552 were recognised as STAR mark holders (75 per cent to 84.99 per cent). Additionally, there were 1,05,873 Division 1 holders (comprising distinction and STAR mark holders), 1,50,764 Division 2 holders, and 60,680 Division 3 holders.
The tally of letter mark holders totaled 1,93,159, with Social Science witnessing the highest number of achievers at 36,973.
Among districts, Chirang emerged as the top performer with a pass rate of 91.2 per cent, followed closely by Nalbari at 88.1 per cent, and Baksa at 86.9 per cent. Conversely, Udalguri district reported the lowest pass rate at 60.9 per cent.

Anurag Doloi from Jorhat’s Pragya Academy Senior Secondary School got 593 marks.
Jharna Saikia from Biswanath Chariali’s Shankardev Shishu Vidya Niketan got 590 marks.
Manas Pratim Saikia from Majuli Kamalabari’s Island Academy got 588 marks.
Bedanta Choudhury from Barpeta Sarupeta’s Stella Maris School got 588 marks.
Devashree Kashyap from Nagaon’s Ramanujan Senior Secondary School got 588 marks.

OBC: 76.6 per cent
MOBC: 75.1 per cent
Scheduled Caste: 70.3 per cent
Scheduled Tribe (Hills): 78.9 per cent
Scheduled Tribe (Plain): 79.1 per cent
Tea Garden: 51.5 per cent
