The football fraternity in Arunachal Pradesh is buzzing with excitement as Sangam Kayang inscribes his name in the State’s football history, marking a significant milestone as the region’s inaugural National football referee.
Hailing from Seppa in the East Kameng District, Kayang’s journey to this historic achievement culminated with his successful completion of the All India Football Federation-AIFF Level-5 referee examination.
Conducted on April 15 and 17, the rigorous examination yielded favourable results for Kayang, with the official announcement made on April 23. Hosted at the prestigious Laxmibai National Institute of Physical Education (LNIPE) in Gwalior, the examination signifies a pivotal moment in both Kayang’s career and the state’s football landscape.
Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu and his Deputy Chowna Mein took to social media to extend their heartfelt congratulations to Kayang, commending their dedication and perseverance.
CM Khandu expressed, “Heartiest congratulations to Sangam Kayang on becoming first national football referee from Arunachal Pradesh. Kayang’s journey started from Seppa, East Kameng district. He later successfully passed the AIFF Level-5 referee exam at LNIPE, Gwalior. His feat exemplifies his incredible passion for the soccer. Keep excelling, my best wishes!”
