In a tragic incident in Manipur’s Bishnupur district, two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel lost their lives and two others sustained injuries in an attack believed to be orchestrated by suspected Kuki militants.
The assault, which commenced at midnight and lasted until 2:15 am, targeted the CRPF’s 128 Battalion stationed in the Naransena area.
Reports indicate that the attack occured around 00:45 hours on April 27, when armed groups opened fire toward a village under the jurisdiction of the Moirang police station. The assailants’ bomb, aimed at the village, landed and detonated inside the outpost of B/128 Bn CRPF at Narayansena.
Tragically, the explosion resulted in fatal injuries to Sub-Inspector N Sarkar and Head Constable Arup Saini, while leaving Inspector Jadav Das and Constable Aftab Hussain wounded.
The incident highlights the persistent security challenges faced by law enforcement personnel in the region and highlights the ongoing efforts needed to maintain peace and stability in Manipur.
