In a heartbreaking turn of events, a valiant member of the Central Reserve Police Force or CRPF hailing from Assam’s Barpeta met his untimely demise in a suspected attack by Kuki militants in Manipur’s Bishnupur district. Nasiruddin Sarkar, a resident of Bhella village in Barpeta, tragically lost his life in the line of duty.
Recalling the fateful moment when news of her husband’s demise shattered their world, Anwara Begum shared the heart-wrenching ordeal of receiving that ominous call from the Noonmati CRPF headquarters.
“At first, they didn’t tell me about my husband’s demise,” mentioned Begum adding, “But when I called them back and insisted on knowing why they had called, they told me to hand over the phone to my son, who soon broke down in tears after attending the call.”
Nasiruddin Sarkar, originally from Srirampur, Kokrajhar district, had embraced Banbariya village as his own after marrying Anwara Begum. As the mortal remains of this brave soul journey back to his hometown, a community mourns the loss of a dedicated guardian.
Sarkar leaves behind son Ajiruddin Sarkar and daughter Narjima Begum, both accomplished individuals in their own right, having completed their respective degrees. Their aspirations now overshadowed by the void left by their father’s absence.
