As Assam readies for the final phase of polling in the remaining four Lok Sabha seats in Western Assam and Guwahati, Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma is actively engaging with the electorate, addressing multiple public meetings daily. Acknowledging the crucial role of Muslim voters in these constituencies, the CM boldly asserts that half of the State’s Muslim electorate has thrown their support behind the BJP in the concluded polling.
CM Himanta candidly shared his observations with reporters, stating, “We did not expect all Muslim voters to vote for us but 50 per cent of them have realised that whatever I have been saying is for their good.”
In the forthcoming third phase, constituencies like Barpeta and Dhubri remain focal points due to their unique demographic compositions. CM Himanta highlighted the strategic alliance with AGP, particularly significant in regions with a significant Muslim population.
Highlighting the potential significance of this electoral shift, the Assam CM shed light on the perceptible change in the mindset of Muslims over the past decade, citing a growing positive sentiment towards the BJP.

Applicants from those families, which do not have jobs, will get 10 marks extra during the interview for the State Government jobs.”
