Following a wave of bomb threats targeting over 100 schools in Delhi-NCR, Delhi police sources revealed a disturbing discovery: rather than the work of an individual, it appears that an organisation may be behind the coordinated threats.
Sources within the Delhi Police highlighted the complexity of the investigation, suggesting that the situation may be part of a larger conspiracy. “The timing of elections, the scale of data collection from numerous schools, and the use of Russian IP addresses via VPNs all point towards a carefully orchestrated plan,” the sources disclosed.
As the investigation unfolds, authorities are exploring various angles, including the possibility of involvement by foreign intelligence agencies. “There is speculation regarding the involvement of ISI or a potential joint conspiracy between China and ISI,” the sources elaborated. While China’s robust server infrastructure may be a factor, investigators stress that it is still early in the process to draw definitive conclusions.
The Special Cell of the Delhi Police has initiated action, registering an FIR against unidentified individuals under relevant sections of the IPC and taking the investigation under the purview of the Counter Intelligence Team. The FIR includes details of the threatening emails received by the schools.
In response to the threats, the Delhi Government issued an advisory urging schools to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activity. Meanwhile, the Home Affairs Ministry sought to reassure the public, stating that the email threats appeared to be a hoax and that appropriate security measures were being implemented.
With 131 schools in Delhi reportedly targeted by the threats, authorities are working diligently to ensure the safety and security of students and staff, while also conducting a thorough investigation to apprehend those responsible for instigating fear and panic in the community.
