Namsai town in Arunachal Pradesh has recently installed Smart Electric Poles, revolutionizing urban infrastructure with their multifunctional capabilities.
These innovative poles, equipped with an array of features, including an EV charger, CCTV cameras, an Emergency help button, and a Weather Report screen, represent a significant advancement in urban technology integration.
MC Saikia, Junior Engineer of the Namsai Power department, explained that these Smart street lights, installed across three towns in Arunachal, including Namsai, are part of a broader initiative to modernize urban infrastructure.
“These lights have 360-degree CCTV cameras, EV charging ports for electric vehicles, Air quality index viewers, Weather report screens, and emergency sirens,” Saikia elaborated on the features.
While discussing the functionality of the Smart Electric Poles, Saikia acknowledged the issue of non-functional street lights in Namsai, attributing it to ongoing renovation and repair work on the town’s drainage system, which inadvertently damaged some wires.
However, he assured residents that efforts are underway to address these issues promptly, reaffirming the commitment to ensuring the seamless operation of these modern amenities in Namsai town.
