Apple CEO Tim Cook has hailed Bharat’s ascent as the most coveted market for global tech giants, citing the nation’s burgeoning developer base and thriving ecosystem. Cook expressed his satisfaction with Bharat’s expanding developer community, emphasising Apple’s comprehensive approach encompassing developer support, market strategies, and operational efficiency.
Minister of State for Electronics and Technology, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, echoed Cook’s sentiments, tweeting about Apple’s recognition of Bharat’s rapidly growing developer base. Cook praised Apple Bharat’s remarkable double-digit revenue growth, achieving a new March quarter record. Describing Bharat as an “incredibly exciting market” and a key focus for the company, Cook highlighted the significance of India’s performance in Apple’s global revenue metrics.
Bharat’s appeal to global tech firms stems from its vast talent pool, cost-effective operations, and stable supply chain environment. Against the backdrop of shifting global geopolitics, Bharat has emerged as a beacon for tech corporations seeking growth opportunities. Notably, in 2023, revenue growth rates for Apple, Microsoft, and Meta in Bharat outpaced their global expansion rates.
Cook emphasised the pragmatic necessity of producing in Bharat to maintain competitiveness, citing the intertwined nature of operational and market initiatives. Apple’s efforts to bolster its presence in India include fortifying distribution channels and nurturing the developer ecosystem. In 2023 alone, Apple supported over a million developer jobs in Bharat, with plans for further expansion.
