Assam’s Emon Gogoi has emerged victorious, clinching the bronze medal at the ongoing 8th Asian Ju-Jitsu Championship in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Displaying remarkable skill and resilience, Gogoi represented Assam with pride, captivating audiences and securing a podium finish in the prestigious event.
Celebrating her achievement, the Ju-Jitsu Association of Assam took to social media to express their joy, hailing Gogoi’s success as a moment of immense pride for the region.
“Great news for Assam. We have made history. Emon Gogoi (Jorhat) wins the BRONZE Medal in the prestigious Ju-Jitsu Asia event,” announced the association on their official Facebook page.
Gogoi’s win serves as an inspiration to aspiring athletes across Assam, highlighting the State’s rich talent pool and potential.
In a parallel development, ten athletes from Arunachal Pradesh were selected by the Ju-Jitsu Association of India to represent the country at the 8th Asian Ju-Jitsu Championship-2024 in Abu Dhabi.
The international teams arrived in Abu Dhabi for the championship that commenced with the patronage of Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council.
Anticipated to attract over 1,500 male and female competitors from 30 countries, the championship at the Mubadala Arena starting from May 3 will continue till May 8.
