Assam’s celebrated singer Nahid Afrin has been appointed as the first-ever Youth Advocate for the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) India, joining the esteemed ranks alongside Bollywood icon Kareena Kapoor Khan and three others named as Ambassadors by UNICEF.
UNICEF India, marking its 75th year of collaboration with India, unveiled Kareena Kapoor Khan as the organisation’s National Ambassador on May 4. Kapoor Khan’s role will encompass advancing every child’s rights to early childhood development, health, education, and gender equality.
