Bharat embarked on its third phase of voting, drawing political luminaries like Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah to the polls on May 7.
After casting his ballot in Ahmedabad, PM Modi commended the Election Commission for orchestrating the first two phases of the Lok Sabha elections with minimal incidents of violence across the nation. He remarked on Bharat’s electoral process being exemplary, suggesting it could serve as a blueprint for democracies worldwide and a subject of study for academic institutions.

“In our country, there is great importance of ‘daan,’ and in the same spirit, the countrymen should vote as much as possible,” stated PM Modi, emphasising the significance of voter participation.

Home Minister Amit Shah, contesting from Gujarat’s Gandhinagar, also participated in this phase of voting. PM Modi, endorsing Shah’s candidacy, urged the people of Gujarat to turn out in large numbers.
Following his own voting at Ahmedabad’s Nishan Higher Secondary School, PM Modi engaged with enthusiastic crowds, accompanied by Amit Shah. He graciously signed autographs, greeted supporters, and expressed gratitude for their participation in the electoral process.

The third phase of elections covers 94 constituencies across 11 States and Union Territories. While the first phase encompassed 102 constituencies and the second 88, voting hours extend from 7 am to 5 pm. Vote counting is scheduled for June 4.

Notably, the constituency of Surat will not participate in this phase, as the BJP candidate secured victory uncontested.
