Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma has launched a scathing attack on the Congress, alleging the party’s attempts to manipulate reservation policies to include Muslims. His allegations surfaced following a statement made by former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav.
In his statement, CM Himanta raised concerns about the Congress party’s stance on reservation policies. “We have been asserting that the Congress aims to alter reservation policies to accommodate Muslims. Today, Lalu Yadav’s statement validates our concerns,” remarked the Assam CM.
Expressing confidence in the democratic process, Himanta Biswa Sarma commended the peaceful conduct of the electoral exercise in Assam, highlighting a significant voter turnout across the State.
“Today is the last day of Assam election. We have completed peacefully. There was a very good turnout. Almost we have recorded 80 per cent voting in the first two phases. Today as well, I’m sure of an 80 per cent voting percentage. People of Assam will support a Bharat which will become a Vishwa Guru,” mentioned CM Himanta.
“Not single incidents of violence or election-related disturbances have been reported in Assam. The people of Assam have participated enthusiastically in the festival of democracy,” said the CM.
Looking beyond Assam, CM Himanta exuded confidence in the electoral prospects of the Bharatiya Janata Party and its alliance partners in the Northeast region. “Northeast BJP and its alliance will yield good results,” he said, attributing the anticipated success to the developmental initiatives undertaken in the region under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“In Jharkhand, Bihar, Odisha, West Bengal, and Northeast, all these States in eastern Bharat, this time East Bharat and Northeast Bharat will play a historical role,” predicted CM Himanta, suggesting a plausible landslide victory for PM Modi.
“The air and blessings are with PM Modi… People are blessings and the people of Assam are blessing PM Modi. This blessing will propel us forward,” he said.
Further slamming the Congress party and its scion Rahul Gandhi, CM Himanta said, “In our civilization, the son is afraid of the mother, it is a symbol of respect. But in the Gandhi family, the mother is afraid of the son.”
Scrutinising the ideological underpinnings of the Gandhi family and portraying them as a cadre of personal employees catering to leftist ideologies, the vocal leader from Assam stated, “Look at the ideology of every member of the Gandhi family as personal employees, caressing and revolving. All are hardcore leftists. The Left has completely taken over the party.”
