Tripura Chief Minister Prof Dr Manik Saha announced the State Government’s plan to launch kidney transplant procedures, aiming to provide vital medical services within the region.
“We aim to commence kidney transplant procedures by June as patients are already prepared. This will eliminate the need for patients to seek kidney transplants outside the state. Additionally, we are mulling to introduce liver transplant process here in Tripura. We are also pleased to see specialist doctors gradually returning back here in our state,” said Dr Manik Saha.
During his visit to the IGM Hospital in Agartala, the Chief Minister highlighted the importance of enhancing healthcare accessibility and quality.
On the inspection of IGM Hospital, the CM stated, “Since I had the time, I came here for a visit, accompanied by the Health Secretary and Medical Superintendent. I reviewed numerous departments and provided instructions on areas needing focus.”
Dr Manik Saha, who also serves as the Health Minister, expressed optimism about the return of specialist doctors to Tripura, which is expected to strengthen the State’s healthcare infrastructure.
The initiative to introduce kidney transplant procedures by June aims to provide essential medical services locally, reducing the necessity for patients to seek treatments elsewhere.
