The Foreign Affairs Ministry of Myanmar’s National Unity Government has issued guidelines for its nationals seeking refuge in Bharat amid security concerns in their homeland. The notification urged all Myanmar nationals in Bharat to adhere strictly to these regulations to ensure mutual respect, cooperation, and stability.
In response to Myanmar’s notification, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh addressed the issue, stating, “The Manipur Government has detected a total of 5,457 illegal immigrants in Kamjong District as of May 7. Out of the total, the biometric data of 5,173 such illegal immigrants have been collected so far. Deportation process is underway. We have been providing humanitarian aid to all the illegal immigrants who were detected so far. Despite being an alarming situation, we have been handling it with utmost sensitivity.”
The crucial points of the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Myanmar’s National Unity Government notification are as follows:
Respect for Sovereignty: Myanmar nationals are urged to abstain from any actions that may undermine the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bharat.
Avoidance of Political Involvement: It is advised to exercise caution and refrain from participating in political and administrative matters such as election campaigns and ethnic conflicts of the State where they are residing.
Prohibition of Illegal Activities: Engaging in any form of illegal trafficking, including drugs and wild animals, is strictly prohibited.
Harmonious Living: Myanmar nationals are encouraged to live in harmony with the local communities, respecting their religious practices and adhering to the social norms of the area where they are residing.
Additionally, in the event of emergencies such as health crises or social issues necessitating border crossings, Myanmar nationals are encouraged to collaborate with pertinent Indian authorities and Non-Governmental Organisations or NGOs to uphold security and stability in border regions.
In times of adversity or difficulties, Myanmar nationals are urged to seek aid and assistance from civil society organisations, philanthropic entities aiding Myanmar refugees, and, if needed, from the Foreign Affairs Ministry.
Moreover, the Ministry urges Myanmar civil society and philanthropic organisations aiding refugees to share this notification with pertinent religious groups, refugee camps, communities, and civil bodies to ensure broad awareness and adherence.
