Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma has set a bold target for the Bharatiya Janata Party or BJP in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, expressing the party’s aspiration to secure 400 seats. The CM justified this ambitious goal by highlighting the BJP’s mission to prevent the Congress party from rebuilding the Babri Masjid at the site of the Ram Temple.
Addressing a public rally in Odisha’s Malkangiri, CM Himanta asserted, “Our aim for 400 seats is not just about securing a majority in Parliament. It is about safeguarding the sanctity of our cultural heritage and preventing the Congress from reversing the progress made towards the construction of the Ram Temple. We cannot allow the Babri Masjid to be rebuilt in Bharat.”
CM Himanta elaborated on the BJP’s broader agenda, asserting, “Our plans extend beyond the Ram Temple. We are committed to liberating every temple in our country. Securing more than 400 seats for Prime Minister Narendra Modi is crucial to ensure his continued leadership and uphold our vision for Bharat.”
Furthermore, he reaffirmed the BJP Government’s dedication to the welfare of tribal communities, emphasising the party’s stance on reservation policies. He talked about the BJP’s belief in targeted reservation benefits for Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC), while vehemently opposing any proposal for separate reservations for Muslims.
“Our government firmly believes in the upliftment of tribal societies,” Himanta Biswa Sarma declared. “Reservation benefits should be directed solely towards the SC/ST/OBC communities. We stand firm against any attempt by the Congress or other parties to introduce separate reservations for Muslims.”
His statements displays the BJP’s commitment to its ideological principles and its determined pursuit of its political objectives in the ongoing electoral landscape.
