In a momentous ceremony held at the Sankari Sangeet Vidyalaya in Assam’s Morigaon district, Padma Shri Jatin Goswami Gurudev was honoured with the prestigious ‘Kushilaba Kala Nidhi’ title, symbolising his profound influence on Satriya Sangeet culture.
The event, graced by esteemed personalities and enthusiastic supporters, took place at the revered Gulap Mahanta Memorial stage nestled within the Morigaon District Library’s premises. The ceremony exuded a spirited atmosphere, resonating with the anticipation of a significant milestone.
Commencing with a solemn prayer led by Atul Ch Das, district president of Srimanta Sankardeva Sangha in Morigaon, the ceremony gained momentum under the guidance of Gyan Muhan Deka and Prasanna Kr Medhi, president and principal of Sankari Sangeet Vidyalaya respectively. The ceremonial lighting of the lamp was performed by Mridul Kr Bora, exam secretary at Sankari Sangeet Vidyapith Assam.
Under the vigilant oversight of Mantu Kr Nath, the evening unfolded with a captivating cultural showcase featuring performances by talented students of Sankari Sangeet Vidyalaya. A standout moment was the formal inauguration of the melodious composition ‘Tejare Kamalapati’ by Janardan Kalita, seamlessly blending tradition and innovation in the field of Satriya Sangeet.
