On the occasion of Mother’s Day, a video surfaced on social media capturing Modi’s emotional response. Despite his personal loss, elderly women from various parts of the nation conveyed their affection and blessings to Modi, likening themselves to his mother.
During a public rally in West Bengal’s Hooghly district on May 12, PM Modi was presented with a portrait of his late mother, symbolising the enduring reverence and affection of the people towards him. In his address, PM Modi mentioned about Bharat’s profound tradition of venerating motherhood throughout the year, contrasting it with the Western celebration of Mother’s Day. He reiterated the omnipresent worship of maternal figures such as Ma Durga, Ma Kaali, and Bharat Mata in Indian culture.
