Manipur Education (Schools) Director Laishram Nandakumar Singh, alongside Education department officials, proudly announced the results of the class 12 examinations conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (COHSEM) on Monday. Students can access their results at https://manresults.nic.in/.
The pass rate across all streams this year soared to an impressive 97.63 per cent. Thoubal district clinched the top spot with a remarkable 99.58 per cent pass rate, closely followed by Bishnupur district at 99.19 per cent. However, Ukhrul district recorded the lowest pass percentage at 85.95 per cent, still a notable improvement from the 2023 figure of 88.68 per cent.
Government higher secondary schools achieved an overall pass percentage of 95.49 per cent, while non-government schools excelled with a pass rate of 98.18 per cent. Notably, girl students emerged as frontrunners in both government and non-government higher secondary schools.
Out of the 31,128 students who appeared for the COHSEM Class 12 examination, Malemnganbi Laishram of Comet School in Imphal secured the top position in the science stream with an impressive total of 493 marks. In commerce, Aiena Naorem of Kakching Higher Secondary School led the pack with 447 marks, while Thokchom Sheityajit of Enlighten Knowledge Higher Secondary School topped the arts stream with a remarkable 477 marks.
During the official declaration of the results at the COHSEM office in Imphal, Director of Education (Schools) Laishram Nandakumar Singh commended the dedication of teachers and officials for the smooth conduct of the examinations. “This year’s pass percentage is one of the highest in the history of COHSEM,” Director Nandakumar proudly stated, highlighting the arts stream’s pass rate of 94.35 per cent, science stream at 98.91 per cent, and commerce stream at 93.51 per cent.
Expressing congratulations to the successful candidates and position holders, Director Nandakumar extended his wishes for a bright future for the accomplished students. Reflecting on the increased pass percentage compared to previous years, COHSEM Chairman T Ojit Singh acknowledged that changes in the question pattern could have contributed to the improvement.
The declaration of examination results was attended by officials from COHSEM and the education department, marking a momentous occasion for education in Manipur.
