Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma graced the Rongali Bihu celebration, the Assamese New Year, hosted by the Assam Cultural Society at Vanapa Hall. As the chief guest, he extended warm greetings and best wishes to all attendees, highlighting the significance of preserving and promoting cultural traditions.
In his address, CM Lalduhoma reflected on the importance of cultural heritage and urged youth to uphold ancestral values, noting that cultural continuity is a shared responsibility. He praised the Assam Cultural Society for their dedication to celebrating Rongali Bihu.
Reflecting on Mizoram’s historical connection with Assam, Lalduhoma recounted the State’s evolution from being under Assam’s administration to achieving independence. He stressed the importance of nurturing friendly ties between Mizoram and Assam, highlighting mutual cooperation for development. Lalduhoma shared insights from his recent meeting with Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, affirming both leaders’ commitment to encouraging peaceful relations along the border.
