Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a scathing attack on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, alleging that the ruling TMC had veered away from its original promise of governance for “Maa, Maati, Manush” and was now catering to “Mullah, Madrasa, and Mafia.”
Addressing a rally in Bongaon, North 24 Parganas, Shah criticised the TMC Government for providing a monthly honorarium to Imams while neglecting priests and temple custodians. He asserted that the focus of the TMC had shifted towards appeasing certain communities, causing disparities in treatment.
“The TMC came to power on the slogan of ‘Maa, Mati, Manush’. However, their focus has now shifted to ‘Mullah, Madrasa, Mafia’,” Shah stated, highlighting instances of preferential treatment and alleged discrimination against certain religious groups.
Shah also criticised Mamata Banerjee for declining an invitation to the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya, accusing her of prioritising appeasement politics over national interests. He asserted that Mamata Banerjee was more concerned about her electoral constituency than the welfare of the State.
Furthermore, Shah accused Mamata Banerjee of spreading misinformation about the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), asserting that the legislation aimed to provide refuge to oppressed minorities from neighbouring countries and posed no threat to Indian citizens.
“Mamata Banerjee is misleading the people about the CAA, which is intended to grant asylum to persecuted minorities. The TMC’s opposition to the CAA is aimed at political gains, disregarding the rights of minority communities,” Shah remarked.
Assuring the Matua community of their rights under the CAA if the BJP comes to power in Bengal, Shah reiterated the BJP’s commitment to securing a majority in the ongoing elections.
In conclusion, Shah warned those involved in corruption and criminal activities in Bengal, asserting that the BJP under PM Modi’s leadership would restore law and order in the State.
Amit Shah was campaigning for BJP candidate Shantanu Thakur in Bongaon, highlighting the party’s determination to secure victory in the upcoming phases of the elections.
