As Sikkim commemorates its 49th State Day, Governor Lakshman Acharya extends warm greetings to the people of the State, marking a significant milestone in Sikkim’s democratic journey.
Reflecting on the State’s remarkable transformation since its integration into Bharat’s democracy nearly five decades ago, Governor Acharya celebrates Sikkim’s distinctive identity and the achievements made in many sectors over the years.
In a heartfelt message shared on Facebook, Governor Acharya highlights Sikkim’s progress in social, economic, cultural, and infrastructural spheres, positioning it as a beacon of development and a model for other States. He highlighted that State’s natural beauty, peaceful environment, religious traditions, and ethnic harmony inspire the entire nation.
On this auspicious occasion, Governor Acharya calls upon the people of Sikkim to unite and propel the State towards greater progress and prosperity, aiming to achieve the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.
Reflecting upon the importance of peace, fraternity and sustainable development, Governor Acharya appealed for the preservation of Sikkim’s rich cultural heritage and traditional values. He advocates for collective efforts to address challenges and elevate the quality of life for all citizens.
Governor Acharya asserted on the need for excellence in education, accessible healthcare, technological integration, youth empowerment, gender equality, agricultural support, and citizen-centric governance.
