In a heartfelt display of unity and harmony, top leaders from Northeast Bharat, including Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim Chief Ministers Pema Khandu and Prem Singh Tamang, Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, and Assam Minister Pijush Hazarika, extended their warm greetings to the people on the auspicious occasion of Buddha Purnima, also known as Saga Dawa.
Prem Singh Tamang highlighted the festival’s importance in promoting unity and harmony in a Facebook post, wishing that Lord Buddha’s wisdom would illuminate the path towards love, peace, and deeper connections among the Sikkimese people.
Pema Khandu echoed similar sentiments on social media, emphasising the need to embrace Buddha’s teachings of compassion, peace, and enlightenment to guide individuals toward kindness and inner tranquillity.
Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha extended his best wishes to the people of the State, while Manipur Counterpart Biren Singh wished for peace, prosperity, and happiness under the blessings of Lord Buddha.
Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal expressed his hope that Buddha’s teachings would help build a compassionate, peaceful, and prosperous world, and Assam Minister Pijush Hazarika called for adherence to Buddha’s ideals to foster a harmonious society.
BTC CEM Pramod Boro also shared his greetings, acknowledging Bhagwan Buddha’s timeless teachings of peace, harmony, and nonviolence, which have guided humanity for centuries.
BJP Sikkim extended warm wishes to the people of Sikkim, highlighting the significance of Saga Dawa for Mahayana Buddhism followers, who commemorate Buddha’s birth, enlightenment, and salvation.
These messages collectively emphasise the leaders’ commitment to encouraging unity, peace, and mutual understanding in the region through the timeless teachings of Lord Buddha.
