Assamese film producer Dr Junmoni Devi Khaund, lead actress Ritisha Khaund, director Pranab J Deka and other members garnered global appreciation for their Hindi film Kooki. The movie produced in Assam was premiered at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival (Du Film De Cannes).
The screening at the Palais H auditorium attracted film enthusiasts and distributors from multiple countries and they thoroughly enjoyed the film.
Dr Junmoni Devi Khaund and Ritisha Khaund attended the festival and engaged in meaningful discussions with the audience, receiving commendations for their work.
Excitingly, France, Morocco, and several other countries have expressed interest in releasing “Kooki” in their respective markets, highlighting its international appeal.
Ritisha Khaund’s exceptional performance was particularly praised by several directors and filmmakers present at the screening.

“Kooki” is set to release in 100 cinema halls across Bharat on June 28. The film addresses a sensitive topic, narrating the journey of a rape victim and the multiple stages of mental trauma a victim endures.
