Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has lauded the inauguration of a new Research and Development (R&D) centre in Tawang, emphasising its crucial role in fortifying defense capabilities in the region. Taking to a microblogging site, CM Khandu expressed his pride in the latest addition to Tawang’s infrastructure.
CM Khandu remarked, “Another proud addition in Tawang! The R&D Centre of Defence Research Laboratory will go a long way in supporting the soldiers posted in the frontline areas and promoting research activities.”

The establishment of the R&D Centre by the Defence Research Laboratory (DRL) marks a significant step towards strengthening support for soldiers deployed in frontline areas and encouraging research initiatives. Inaugurated on May 24 by Defence Research and Development Organisation-DRDO Secretary & Chairman Dr Samir V Kamat, the facility highlights a concerted effort to enhance defence capabilities in remote regions.
