In a groundbreaking medical achievement for Assam’s Goalpara district, a 15 kg tumour was successfully removed from a 66-year-old woman at Hiranyabh Rabha Memorial Hospital and Recharge Institute Private Limited in Dudhnoi.
This remarkable surgery marks the first successful removal of a large tumour in Goalpara. Dr Jayakanta Rabha led the procedure, which involved a team of three doctors and nurses. The operation lasted 45 minutes and was performed on an elderly woman, who had been suffering from the tumour for over three decades.
According to reports, the woman’s family had previously consulted various doctors across multiple hospitals, but none could offer a cure. Recently, a doctor in Goalpara suggested the woman had cancer and advised seeking treatment in Guwahati. However, upon visiting Hiranyabh Nursing Home in Dudhnoi and consulting with Dr Rabha, it was determined that the woman’s condition was non-cancerous, and she was diagnosed with a large-sized tumour in her stomach.
The successful removal of the tumour has brought immense relief and joy to the woman’s family, who expressed their gratitude to the medical team and the hospital authorities. The patient and her relatives are now celebrating this significant medical victory.
