After completing the shoot for ‘Singham Again’ in Kashmir, director Rohit Shetty shared his experiences and the significant changes he witnessed in the region following the abrogation of Article 370. He took to Instagram to post video showcasing glimpses of the shoot, featuring interactions with locals, police officials, and children, as well as moments with actor Ajay Devgn.
In his post, Shetty expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for transforming Kashmir into “Naya Kashmir.” The abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019 marked a turning point, and Shetty’s video highlighted this transformation.
The text in the video read, “We always had a paradise in our motherland called Kashmir, but once there was terrorism, unrest, curfews, no social life. And then Article 370 got abolished. Five years later, we landed up filming Singham Again. And now the New Kashmir. Happiness. Young energy. Tourism. Peace. Love. Naye Bharat ka naya Kashmir.”
Shetty captioned the video with a heartfelt message: “Narendra Modi @hmoindia…Had the most amazing and emotional schedule. Thank you for the tremendous love Kashmir.”
Ajay Devgn also shared his appreciation for the support received from local authorities and the people of Kashmir. In a special video, he said, “Thank you so much Kashmir film authority for a lovely shoot and so much cooperation… It’s a beautiful place. We wish we keep coming here. Thank you.”
During the shoot, Shetty and Devgn met with jawans of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) in Jammu and Kashmir. ‘Singham Again’ features an ensemble cast, including Arjun Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Deepika Padukone, Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, and Ranveer Singh. This film marks the third installment in the popular franchise, following the successful releases of ‘Singham’ in 2011 and ‘Singham Returns’ in 2014.
Actor Jackie Shroff, who plays a key role in the film, also expressed his gratitude to the Jammu and Kashmir Government for their unwavering support to the film industry. The cooperative efforts have made it easier for industry professionals to shoot movies and other projects in the Union Territory.
