Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, known for his unwavering dedication to societal progress, honoured the memory of the late Dr Birubala Rabha by offering sincere condolences to her family. Dr Rabha, a revered champion in the battle against superstition, sadly fell victim to the very adversary she tirelessly fought against.
Dr Rabha initiated Mission Birubala from her native village Thakurbila in 2011 and her legacy echoes through her tireless efforts to dispel superstitions and societal prejudices.
During his visit, Sonowal appreciated Dr Rabha’s indomitable spirit, recognising her as a cherished icon in Assam’s cultural history. Reflecting on their conversations, he highlighted her steadfast commitment to societal betterment and women’s empowerment.

Amid anticipation for the upcoming general election results on June 4, Sonowal expressed optimism for Assam’s future.
