CCTV footage of a man hurling a bomb at a BJP worker named Sanup’s house in Kerala’s New Mahe Town at Kannur on June 9 has surfaced.
The man, in the video, who can be seen throwing a bomb at the house wearing a raincoat, was identified as Arun K, a CPIM worker, who was arrested on Saturday.
While one of the bombs exploded on the road in front of the residence of the BJP worker, the other was found unexploded at the scene.
However, post the incident, there was major damage to the house but no serious injuries were reported. Local authorities believe the violence was a continuation of the tensions that erupted in the area post the results of the Lok Sabha elections.

Reportedly, a wreath who was also laid in front of a shop owned by a supporter of the BJP named Rajan who participated in the celebrations of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s oath-taking ceremony.
Earlier in the day, the Enforcement Directorate said it raided various locations in many states as part of a money laundering investigation against a Kerala-based company that allegedly duped depositors to the tune of Rs 1,500 crore through a Ponzi scheme.
