Following Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s high-level security review meeting in Delhi, top officials briefed Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh in Imphal on the latest measures aimed at restoring peace in the State.

He stressed that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, “the Central government is initiating dialogue with all stakeholders to address the conflict.”
Manipur has been in turmoil due to ethnic violence between the Kuki-Zo and Meitei communities since May 3, 2023.
All-Party Meeting for Peace
CM Biren Singh also highlighted an all-party meeting he chaired to strengthen security and law and order in the State. “We had a productive discussion on enhancing the security situation. The collective effort of all stakeholders is essential for achieving lasting peace and development in Manipur,” he stated.
On Monday, Amit Shah led a crucial meeting to assess the current situation in Manipur and plan the way forward, notably without CM Singh’s participation. This meeting came after Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat’s appeal for peace on June 10. Bhagwat remarked, “Manipur was peaceful for a decade, and it seemed gun culture had ended. Now, we must prioritise peace to extinguish the current conflict.”
