Governor Lt Gen KT Parnaik (Retd), Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, and various ministers of Arunachal Pradesh participated in International Yoga Day events held across the State on Friday.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu accentuated the importance of yoga in creating a healthy society, urging citizens to integrate yoga into their daily routines. “By regularly practising yoga, a person can imbibe some very good qualities like courage which protects like a father, forgiveness as possessed by a mother and mental peace which becomes a permanent friend,” Khandu shared on social media after joining a yoga session.
Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, who participated in an event in Namsai district, encouraged people to embrace yoga as a means to find inner peace amidst busy lives. “On this International Yoga Day, let’s take the opportunity to embrace the ancient art of yoga and incorporate it into our daily lives,” asserted Mein.
In Namsai district, the District Health Society, in collaboration with the district administration and Assam Rifles, organised yoga sessions followed by a friendly volleyball match between Assam Rifles and Arunachal Pradesh Police. A plantation drive at the DRDA complex further complemented the day’s activities.
International Yoga Day was observed with similar enthusiasm across various districts of Arunachal Pradesh, emphasising its significance in promoting physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.
