Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh expressed confidence in reducing incidents of violence in the State, noting that out of the past 14 months, significant crises were confined to about 6-7 months. The CM anticipated a positive resolution within the next 2-3 months.
CM Biren Singh highlighted that while violence persists in certain pockets, normalcy has largely returned with schools and businesses reopening across Manipur. He attributed the remaining unrest to a temporary shortage of security personnel, now resolved with their return from election duties.
Addressing claims of ongoing violence, CM Biren attributed the root cause to external factors such as influx and drug trafficking from outside the region. He accentuated the importance of identifying and addressing these external influences for sustained peace in Northeast Bharat.
Besides, CM Biren highlighted the priority given by the Modi Government to restoring peace in Manipur, with Home Minister Amit Shah actively engaged in high-level security meetings to devise an actionable plan. The CM expressed hope that a comprehensive solution would be achieved within the next 2-3 months.
On the occasion of International Yoga Day, CM Biren encouraged daily yoga practice among citizens, noting its global recognition under PM Modi’s leadership at the United Nations.
