Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced a major redevelopment project for the Guwahati District Library. The library will be transformed into a B+G+6 building with a budget of Rs 51 crore, bringing significant upgrades to its facilities.
CM Himanta shared a video preview of the proposed project, showcasing the planned design and structure of the new library. He confirmed that the proposal for the District Library at Ambari, Guwahati, has been approved, signaling the start of this ambitious project.

It will have 4 Library floors, 3 General Study areas, book store, cafeteria, parking facilities & other amenities for readers and visitors

The renovated library will include four floors dedicated to library services, three general study areas, a bookstore, a cafeteria, parking facilities, and various other amenities to enhance the experience for readers and visitors.
