In Nagaland, the State Election Commission has declared the poll held on June 26 at Polling Station No. 4 under Ward 20 of Dimapur Municipal Council as void. Following Section 31(1) of the Nagaland Municipal Act, 2023, and Rule 66(a) of the Nagaland Municipal Election Rules, 2023, a re-election has been scheduled for June 28.
The decision was made based on a report submitted by the Returning Officer of Dimapur Municipal Council, taking into account relevant circumstances. The re-election at Polling Station No. 4, which covers areas including the Circuit House Area, W/W- Ura Villa, Circuit House & Imkonglenden Colony, will be held from 7:30 am to 4 pm.
Authorities have been directed by the State Election Commission to ensure extensive publicity in the affected polling station areas and to notify all political parties and contesting candidates about the rescheduled election on June 28.
