During the inauguration of a new Animal Hospital in Belonia Sub-Division, South District, Minister of Animal Resources Development Department or ARDD Sudhangshu Das announced Tripura’s ambitious plan to achieve self-sufficiency in fodder production. He highlighted the pivotal role of animal husbandry in advancing the rural economy and the government’s commitment to promoting livestock development and welfare.
Das highlighted the Chief Minister Animal Welfare Scheme, aimed at empowering rural families engaged in animal rearing through training and financial support. He stressed the scheme’s role in creating employment opportunities and fostering self-reliance among rural youth.
Furthermore, Das outlined the government’s initiatives to increase milk, egg, and meat production in Tripura. These efforts include expanding animal healthcare services, improving disease prevention and treatment infrastructure, and launching mobile ambulance services for livestock.
“These initiatives are designed to not only enhance agricultural productivity but also strengthen rural livelihoods through sustainable animal husbandry practices,” Das concluded.
