Tripura’s overall development was discussed during the meeting between Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha and Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with several Union ministers at the New Parliament Building in New Delhi on June 28.
During his visit, CM Saha also met Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, and Union Health and Family Welfare Minister JP Nadda to address various crucial issues concerning the State’s progress.

In his meeting with PM Modi, CM Saha congratulated the Prime Minister on his third term with a bouquet of flowers and discussed several key development projects. On the microblogging site X, the Tripura CM expressed, “Delighted to meet with PM Narendra Modi at the New Parliament House, New Delhi. I also conveyed the enthusiasm of sisters and brothers of Tripura for Modi 3.0. We discussed various developmental issues in order to fulfil our commitment of Viksit Bharat.”

Among the topics discussed with PM Modi were:
- A new railway link from Belonia in Tripura to Feni in Bangladesh.
- Indo-Bangladesh connectivity via Maitri Bridge.
- Construction of 15 new Ekalavya Model Residential Schools.
- Conversion of single-line tracks to double lines.
- Declaration of MBB airport as an international airport.
- Establishment of an Agar International Trade and Research Centre in Agartala.
CM Saha requested the resolution of pending negotiations with the Department of Economic Affairs for the World Bank-assisted element, the removal of embargo on the export of value-added products to Bangladesh, and the inclusion of the Sabroom-Ramgarh-Chittagong and Sabroom-Ramgarh-Mongla routes as protocol routes for transit and trans-shipment.
Additionally, he sought to purchase gas from GAIL at a lower price and requested an increase in Central Finance Commission Grants.
Later, CM Saha had a courtesy call with Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, during which he requested the transfer of GREF land to the State and the establishment of a Sainik School at Assam Rifles Land in Teliamura under Khowai District or Udaipur under Gomati District.
In his meeting with Union Health and Family Welfare Minister JP Nadda, CM Saha requested the establishment of an AIIMS-like institute, a medical college in Kulai under Dhalai District, a one-time special grant to continue uninterrupted National Ambulance Services, and the extension of the Regional Geriatric Centre Project.
Lastly, in his meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, CM Saha congratulated him and requested the sanctioning of two more IR battalions, the release of funds under security-related expenditure, and funds for purchasing various items for seizures and sampling storage and disposal of NDPS.
