Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Ajit Pawar unveiled the State Budget for 2024-25 with significant welfare measures ahead of the upcoming State Assembly elections in October.
Monthly Allowance for Women: Ajit Pawar announced a financial assistance scheme providing a monthly allowance of ₹1,500 to eligible women aged 21 to 60 years.
Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana: Starting from July, this scheme will be implemented with an annual budgetary allocation of ₹46,000 crore.
Free Cooking Gas Cylinders: Under the ‘Mukhyamantri Annapurna Yojana’, each eligible family of five will receive three free cooking gas cylinders annually.
Farmers’ Bonuses: Farmers will receive a bonus of ₹5,000 per hectare for their cotton and soybean crops.
Milk Producers’ Bonus: A ₹5 per litre bonus will be given to milk-producing farmers even after July 1, 2024.
Increased Compensation for Animal Attack Deaths: The compensation for deaths due to animal attacks has been increased to ₹25 lakh from the previous ₹20 lakh for the next of kin.
