In a briefing, a senior administration official highlighted the United States’ commitment to deepening its relationship with Bharat across various critical sectors. State Department Deputy Spokesperson Vedant Patel accentuated the enhancement of economic and security cooperation between the two countries.
During his daily news conference, Patel noted, “Bharat is a country where we are intensifying our engagement across several key areas, particularly in strengthening economic ties and enhancing our security cooperation.”
He mentioned a recent interaction between President Joe Biden and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the sidelines of the G7 summit, underlining ongoing high-level exchanges.
“National Security Adviser Sullivan’s recent visit to Delhi further highlights our commitment to expanding collaboration,” Patel added.
When asked about Pakistan, Patel reiterated the US stance against terrorism and asserted that relations between Bharat and Pakistan are primarily their own affair. He expressed a broader US stance on encouraging positive neighbourly relations while refraining from specific comments on recent developments.
“We welcome efforts by countries to enhance improved relations with their neighbours,” Patel concluded.
