In view of approaching Ratha Yatra, Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha chaired a comprehensive review meeting to oversee preparations and ensure the festival’s smooth conduct. The meeting, held virtually at the Secretariat, was attended by Chief Secretary JK Sinha, Director General of Police Amitabh Ranjan, Secretary PK Chakraborty, and District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police from across the State via video conference.
Addressing the gathering, CM Saha underlined the significance of the Ratha Yatra in maintaining the State’s cultural harmony. He asserted on the need for meticulous planning to accommodate the influx of visitors and to ensure safety throughout the festivities.

“The smooth execution of this festival is crucial to uphold our cultural heritage. We must take all necessary precautions to prevent any untoward incidents,” stated CM Saha.
The CM directed organisers to strictly adhere to the government regulations regarding the construction and route of the chariot (Rath), stressing on maintaining safety standards, including the height specifications. He outlined the government’s arrangements, including ambulance services, paramedics, volunteers, and fire and emergency services, to be on standby during the event.
Additionally, he stressed the importance of coordination with the power department to facilitate the chariot’s movement and urged punctuality in starting and concluding the Ratha Yatra as scheduled.
Ahead of the event, CM Saha advised monitoring river water levels, particularly in Kailashahar under Unakoti District, to mitigate any potential risks.
“Each individual has a role to play in ensuring the success and safety of this festival,” concluded the CM, calling upon all stakeholders to contribute responsibly.
