The Assam floods have also taken a toll on animals and livestock. Highlighting this, CM Himanta shared heart-warming rescue stories that exemplify the integral role of animals and plants in Assam’s society. For instance, locals of Deopani Gubin Rongphar Gaon, with support from the Mobile Vet Unit and CWRC, successfully rescued a baby elephant. This effort, led by the Karbi Anglong Forest Department and Kaziranga Management, demonstrates a strong commitment to animal safety.
