Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma announced the commissioning of the Chhaygaon-Mirza Section, a pivotal 15.5 km stretch of the New Bongaigaon-Kamakhya via Goalpara Rail Line. The move highlights a significant stride towards enhancing regional connectivity and encouraging local economic growth,
CM Himanta, sharing the news on X, expressed optimism about the positive impact of this development on the region. He emphasized, “The commissioning of the Chhaygaon-Mirza Section will significantly enhance connectivity in the region, facilitating faster operations for both passenger and goods trains. This infrastructure upgrade is vital for supporting local businesses and driving economic growth.”
The newly operational rail section is set to improve transportation efficiency across Assam, reducing travel times and enabling smoother transit. Enhanced connectivity is expected to provide a substantial boost to local businesses by facilitating quicker movement of goods and services, attracting investments, and creating employment opportunities.
