During her four-day trip to Odisha, President Droupadi Murmu was seen enjoying a stroll on Puri’s Golden Beach. She shared her experience and thoughts on nature’s significance through photos and a heartfelt post on X.
“There are places that bring us in closer touch with the essence of life and remind us that we are part of nature. Mountains, forests, rivers and seashores appeal to something deep within us. As I walked along the seashore today, I felt a communion with the surroundings – the gentle wind, the roar of the waves, and the immense expanse of water. It was a meditative experience,” President Murmu posted.

Reflecting on her experience, President Murmu described the sense of inner peace she felt on the beach, likening it to the serenity she experienced during her recent visit to the Jagannath Temple.
She emphasized the universal connection humans feel with nature, stating, “All of us can feel that way when we encounter something that is far larger than us, that sustains us and that makes our lives meaningful.”
Addressing the critical issues of global warming and climate change, President Murmu noted the increasing frequency of extreme weather events worldwide.
She highlighted the threat rising sea levels pose to coastal areas, mentioning that over 70 per cent Earth’s surface is covered by oceans which are heavily affected by pollution.
President Murmu also pointed out the valuable traditions sustained by people living close to nature, suggesting these traditions could guide others in addressing environmental challenges.
