Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, during a recent social media live session, unveiled the State’s plans for conducting recruitment exams amidst ongoing flood relief efforts.
The Assam Direct Recruitment Examination or ADRE for Grade 3 and Grade 4 positions will kick off with preliminary exams for Grade 3 and October 20 for Grade 4 starting September 15. These will be followed by mains and viva assessments as part of the comprehensive recruitment drive aimed at filling 7,500 Grade 3 and 4,500 Grade 4 vacancies Statewide.
The CM highlighted the improving flood conditions, particularly in Dibrugarh and other affected areas, where receding waters from the Brahmaputra River signify a turning point. He assured continued government support to expedite relief efforts and assist displaced residents returning from relief camps.
Ahead of a crucial cabinet meeting scheduled for July 10, CM Himanta mentioned about ministerial visits to assess flood damages and expedite rehabilitation measures. He stressed the urgency of restoring normalcy by August 15, especially for students and families affected by the floods.
Addressing a recent tragedy in Guwahati, he offered condolences and government assistance to the family of Avinash Sarkar, who lost his life in a drain. He reiterated his commitment to supporting the family and ensuring justice in the incident.
Looking forward, CM Himanta responded to inquiries about Assam Police recruitment, confirming plans for physical tests starting October 3 once flood-affected grounds are suitable for use. He also outlined future recruitment plans in elementary and secondary education sectors for 2025, considering the extended timelines for secondary education examinations.
