The CM outlined several key reasons for the establishment of this township. The Global City will feature an integrated township with all necessary amenities and will be located in close proximity to the State Capital Region, Guwahati. It will offer excellent connectivity through rail, road, and air, helping to alleviate congestion in Guwahati, which is grappling with a growing population. Additionally, it will provide accommodation for the thousands of employees expected to work at the upcoming Semiconductor Unit.
This development is seen as a strategic move to enhance the region’s infrastructure and economic growth, while also addressing the urban challenges faced by Guwahati.
