Actor Akshay Kumar has commended his Sarfira co-star Radhikka Madan for her commitment to portraying a Maharashtrian girl in their upcoming film. In Sarfira, Radhikka takes on the role of Rani, a resilient Maharashtrian girl, who confronts numerous challenges with unwavering determination.
Embracing the nuances of Marathi culture, she brings depth and authenticity to her character, according to a recent statement.
Akshay Kumar praised Radhikka’s performance, stating, “This is the best performance I have ever seen. I don’t know what you all think about her. She is not Maharashtrian, but she has acted like one. She is very well-spoken.”
“Her language was very good, and she has gone through whole classes to learn how to speak Marathi and what to say. That is what she has done.”
Recently, the film’s makers unveiled the song Chaawat, which captures the essence of a traditional Maharashtrian wedding.
The lyrics of Chaawat, penned by Manoj Muntashir Shukla and composed by GV Prakash Kumar, have been beautifully rendered by Shreya Ghoshal.
‘Sarfira’ follows the journey of Veer Mhatre, whose ambition is to introduce low-cost aviation carriers, drawing inspiration from the life of GR Gopinath, the founder of Simplifly Deccan, Bharat’s first low-cost airline.
A remake of the Tamil hit film Soorarai Pottru starring Suriya, ‘Sarfira’ is scheduled to hit screens on July 12.
