Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma has taken a significant step towards supporting college and university students by ceremonially distributing the first instalment of admission fee reimbursements under the Pragyan Bharati scheme.
At a recent event, it was announced that a total of 94,838 students across Assam have received financial assistance through this initiative. The funds were disbursed directly to Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), aiming to alleviate financial burdens and empower students in pursuing higher education.

Addressing the gathering, Dr Himanta urged students to utilise the financial support wisely and focus on acquiring skills that will contribute to elevating Assam’s position among the top states in India. The event, attended by Vice Chancellors and other dignitaries, underscored strong support for the scheme and its impact on student welfare.
The CM reaffirmed the government’s dedication to fostering student empowerment, encouraging beneficiaries to equip themselves as proficient human resources, thereby bolstering the educational and economic landscape of the State.
